How it fits together
A house and a yacht have nothing in common except this: both accumulate a history worth money, and both lose it the day they change hands. We keep that history with the asset instead of with whoever currently owns it.

The part that compounds
A service company runs its visits through Marine OS because it makes their week easier. Checklists, findings, engine hours, photographs, published to the owner when the work is finished.
Nobody sets out to write a Yacht Passport. It accumulates, visit by visit, out of work the operator was doing anyway. By the time it matters, it is already years deep.
At survey and at sale, the record hands forward intact. The buyer inherits what the last owner knew instead of starting the picture from nothing.
The record names, on every line, the company that has been maintaining the vessel. The new owner already knows who to call, and the operator never had to make the introduction.
Read it the other way and it still holds. The record is the reason the next owner calls the same company, and the company's own work is what wrote it.
The residential equivalent of Marine OS: the system a property management or home-service company would run on, producing Home Passports the same way Marine OS produces Yacht Passports. Today a Home Passport is commissioned at a closing rather than accumulated over years.
